Dandie Dinmont Terrier
The Scottish native breed whose name comes from a character in the novel
Guy Mannering by Sir Walter Scott. The book even contributed to the names given to colours of the breed – Pepper and Mustard – the name of terriers owned by farmer Dandie Dinmont.
The Dandie is a low to the ground, and active terrier from the borders of Scotland. They have a weasely body unique for its gentle s-shaped curvature from neck to tail.

These terriers have large heads topped with a white fur crown, large expressive eyes and strong personalities – making them a breed who is very easy to fall for, and once having one, no other breed can compare. As terriers you can expect intelligence and independence, but also dignity and sensitivity.
A great dog for families in town or country, can take a lot of exercise but very content in an average size garden.
Their double coat should be regularly groomed with a stiff brush and medium size tooth comb.
